BerettaFest 2004: Denver, Colorado

Doug Blair just finished up calculating the votes for the final round of voting for the location of BerettaFest 2004 and it looks like Denver has won, but only by a few votes. Here are portions of the message he sent to the BerettaFest mailing list:
This was the closest year for voting that we've had so far. The final tally was Denver 96 and Kalamazoo 93. There was a lot of people that did double votes, voted in the wrong poll, didn't follow rules, etc that I had to adjust - so that's why it took me so long to get the results. I also redid the counting several times since it was so close and I wanted to make sure I got it right. Several votes were thrown out because the person failed to reply to me after I contacted them. I also tossed out votes by any people that rode to Bfest (just like last year) since it's not fair to have two votes count for only one car.

[...]

So it's Denver this year, but it'll no doubt be Kalamazoo next year if the proposal is brought up again. Big thanks to the Chicago, Kalamazoo, and Denver proposal organizers. All three of them were very well done!

Since the voting was so close, I'm going to offer copies of the recalculated final polls to both the Denver and Kalamazoo organizers if they want to see how the votes fell.
I'm very excited for a BerettaFest in Denver and can't wait until June!

Group Buy: Speedhut HVAC Indiglo's

Seth Kussmaul, founder of the group buy for the SpeedHut indiglo's for the 91-96 Beretta's with full clusters has started another group buy with the company to develop indiglo panels for the 91-96 HVAC control panel.

SpeedHut now requires 25 pre-orders in order to begin tooling, but we're already at 16 as of last check. For more details or to perhaps answer a question you may have, visit the topic of discussion over at Bstuff.com, or to place your pre-order, follow this link. The HVAC indiglo's will run $35.95 + $8.00 shipping.

Let's get this group buy finished up and get another aftermarket part/accessory available for the Beretta!

Members Database Additions and Updates

I just finished up adding 12 new members to the database today while updating a few others per request. There were some nice cars added in this latest batch so be sure to check them out when you get some time. Sorry it took so long to add/update some of your profiles - you know who you are. ;-)

And we're 9 days into November,...where's Kurt with the feature car for this month? *COUGH*COUGH* :-P Be sure to ask him.

October's Feature Car

Sorry for the delay this month folks. We've had some major issues getting ahold of people, not to mention my personal hardcore procrastination efforts. But after 15 days of October, we've got it up! Congratulations Chris Olsem on being chosen as Feature Car for October! Check out Chris' ride here.

New Members Added

Okay, so it's been awhile since the last update and I apologize. Last night/early this morning I just finished up adding the latest batch of members submissions. There are nine new members for viewing here - be sure to check them out!

Regarding Member Submissions

Lately I've been receiving quite a few submissions without any photos of the car provided (either already online or sent via e-mail). I'd just like to reiterate to everyone that I won't add your car to the database unless I have atleast one decent quality picture to put on your member page. If you don't have any pictures of your car on your computer and would be willing to send me a picture to scan and put online for you, please e-mail me and I'll be glad to help you out. If you already have a picture of your car on your computer and need it put online, I can do that for you as well, just send me the pictures attached to an e-mail. Thanks.

If you'd like to submit your car to the database, click here.

September's Feature Car

September's Feature Car is up and ready for viewing. This month we feature another one of the Beretta world's more quiet members; Adam Mufford. Adam's 93 Quad 4 GTZ is September's Feature Car. Check it out here.

More Member Additions

I've been quietly adding more members to the database over the past couple of days, and just finished up with quite a few more tonight. Be sure to give them a look!

If you're not already a member, click here to submit your car for addition to the database.

August's Feature Car

The feature car for August is up, and we'd like to congratulate Charles Streetman. To view Charles' car and his story, click here.

BerettaSpeed Parts!

We are currently entertaining the idea of producing parts to sell. We would be making short ram intakes for all 2.0, 2.2, 2.8, and 3.1L Berettas. We would also be making cold air intakes for all 2.8 and 3.1L Berettas. Sorry 3100 pilots, but until we get a guinea pig you are out in the cold again. Prices would probably be in the neighborhood of $55 for a short ram intake, and $110 for a cold air intake. These tentative prices do not include an air filter, but a K&N style filter can be had off of eBay for $20 tops. We guarantee a good working product and good customer service.

On the style end of the equation is Carbon Fiber interior pieces for 91 - 96 Berettas, and Polished Valve covers for the 2.8 and 3.1 MPFI engines. The CF trim would cost in the neighborhood of $80, and valve covers for $50 give or take. Both of these parts (trim or valve cover) will require you to send in a core to us.

If you would be interested in this feel free to contact myself or Dustin. We are currently trying to gauge interest, but individual orders will be taken into consideration if not enough interest is shown.

More Member Additions

BerettaSpeed would like to welcome members #32 and 33, check them out!

Byron, IL Minifest: August 2nd

A few of us are planning a mini-fest on Saturday, August 2nd at the Byron Dragway in Byron, IL. We will be grilling up some food at the track and drag racing as well. If you're within a reasonable distance you should plan to come, even if you don't plan on racing. It'll be a fun way to meet new people or to catch up on things with people you already know. We're planning on meeting at the track at 11 AM.

For information on the location of the track or admission costs, check out the track's website here. Hope to see you there!

Members Database Updates

I've add a few more entries to the database and updated some of the others with new or additional. Be sure to check them out and if you're not a member already, take the time to submit your car to the database.

BerettaFest 2003 Pictures

BerettaFest 2003 has come and gone, but was lots of fun! I've posted what pictures that didn't get corrupted on my compact flash card from my digital camera here. Coming soon I might make it in a gallery-type format, complete with captions. Enjoy!

We're Open!

After many months of development and procrastination, BerettaSpeed.com is here. The goal of this site will be to house lots of information pertaining to the Beretta from custom modifications to general information about the car and its history, as well as feature a large members database, lots of multimedia downloads, links to other websites for improving your ride, and each month a different feature car.

Right now the site is around 90% complete -- there are a few features I still want to add and there are more entries to add to existing sections.

Be sure to drop by the contact page and let us know what you think or if you have any suggestions about the site.

Carbon Fiber Hood Group Buy

CarbonFibreFX is willing to do a carbon fiber hood group buy for Berettas if we can get atleast 10 people to deposit half of their cost (roughly $300) to begin production of the hoods. They will have the Lancer Evo style hoodscoop and also have a side inlet in the general area of being
right over the air filter area. Here's a general idea of what they'll look like.

For more information check the post at Bnet.
